The Book of The North
Funded by the University of Minnesota Imagine Fund for Arts, Humanities, and Design and planned for exhibition in the University of Minnesota’s Duluth’s Tweed Museum in Spring of 2027, this text will bring medieval book arts to life through immersive programming and by exploring the relationship between the cultures of Minnesota and the ecology of the region

About
Here, you’ll learn how community scholars and artisans will craft The Book of the North book by hand as they did in the Middle Ages. The narrative contained within its pages will tell tales of strength and resilience, while recognizing the fragility of its surroundings. Ultimately, it will tell the stories of the people who made Minnesota their home. Principal Investigator, Dr. Krista Sue-Lo Twu, will oversee and craft the book, literally and figuratively, thanks to a grant provided by the University of Minnesota Imagine Fund for Arts, Humanities, and Design.
The level of work, dedication, and craftsmanship that will be poured into this text over the next two years is a story in itself, one that this page and our blog will tell.
